National AI Monitoring Units

Article 126 of the Statute provides for national AI Monitoring Units: bodies designated by participating governments as the national point of contact for monitoring, reporting and cooperation with IRBAI. This directory records the units notified to IRBAI for publication.

Each entry records the country, the designated authority, the unit and a public contact where the notifying government has provided one. Notification is made by the government concerned; IRBAI publishes what is notified to it.

COOPERATION

Working With National Units

Monitoring Units are the ordinary channel for harmonized supervision under Chapter 28 of the Statute: the exchange of information, the coordination of inspections and the follow-up of reports that concern more than one jurisdiction.

Governments preparing a designation, or updating one already notified, should proceed through the partnership route for national regulators.

Entries are published once the underlying decision has become final or is immediately effective. Requests for the correction of an entry may be submitted through the contact page; a request does not suspend the entry.
