April 23, 2025 – IRBAI Launches Global Initiative for Ethical AI Governance
The International Regulatory Body for Artificial Intelligence (IRBAI) today announced the official launch of its global initiative aimed at supporting the ethical, transparent, and secure development of artificial intelligence technologies.
IRBAI is an independent, non-governmental organization composed of AI researchers, legal experts, ethicists, and technology leaders from around the world. Our mission is to provide frameworks, certification pathways, and compliance tools to help AI developers and organizations build and deploy responsible AI systems.
“We’re here to complement—not replace—existing efforts in AI governance,” said Joanna Accordi, Chair of IRBAI. “As AI continues to shape society, we believe the world needs diverse, collaborative, and transparent mechanisms for ensuring accountability and safety. That’s where IRBAI steps in.”
“We are committed to transparency and we are actively building partnerships with academic institutions, civil society groups, and international regulators. All frameworks and assessment methodologies will be published in full on our website in Q2 2025.“
